I don't know anyone who quilts period in this town. I'm sure they are there! Anyway, I've been considering to have someone quilt this latest quilt, but don't know where to start. What kind of questions do you ask?

Ask at your LQS if there is someone they would recomend. Also check with a quilt guild in your area.

Once you find someone, I would ask to see a sample of their quilting. There are some machine quilters I would not want working on my quilts!

The quilt store will know.
And make an appointment to talk to the quilter, see their work, and get enough information to know you want to send your quilt there. |
And i think their are places you can send it off to online, Missouri Star Quilt Company is one.

Is that a bigger town you go into often? I would guess that's how far my LQS is for me, but I live in Texas. LOL! 15 miles is like down the block! :) I think you need to go exploring one day. :) Make a fun day out of it for yourself.

I got mine through a friend years ago, but there are MANY talented LAQ here on the board. Do a search. If I wasn't thrilled with my lady, I wouldn't hestitate to contact someone here. Several of them have shown their work and it's spectacular.

I agree, there are some wonderful quilters right here. Check them out.

Hi! I am in Ohio, too. There is a lady that works at a LQS in North Canton and I would be glad to send you her info. Her prices are reasonable and I have always been pleased with her work. PM if you would like her info!
