I have quilted only a few times with the spray basting, and almost always I have had trouble with the needle getting gummy then linty then slowing down. I must not be doing it right. any ideas?

I had the same problem til I used the 505 brand. I've forgotten the brand I used first, but I got it at Hancocks.

I wonder if you are spraying too heavily? I have used several brands, spray lightly, and have not had this happen. :D:D:D

I use the June Taylor spray and haven't had a problem.

Spray lightly-it really holds!

I use June Tailor and have never had a problem with my needle gumming up. I agree-spray lightly and use a few pins around the edges.

I know that I have an off brand. The first spray basting was with 505, and I had no problem.
I'll spray lighter and give that a try next time. Thanks all for you help.:)

I have used both 505 and June Taylor and no problems with either.

I use 505 spray and don't have any problems.
