Hi from Northern Freezing Rain Indiana

I was wondering something...I got a few squares cut out for my Scrappy Quilt and I was wondering how do I keep the edges from fraying out on my Squares? Do you use some kind of a spray or what?

Thanks for your help....

I use Best Press on all my fabrics before I cut. Most good fabrics don't fray all that much anyway.

Yes a good heavy starching before cutting helps keep that fraying from happening. Mary Ellen's Best press is wonderful too, but much more expensive. I just found out yesterday that the Niagra spray starch went to a heavier starch in the heavy. I like it much better now. I ran out of one can and opened the new one. It even smells better.

I have not had a problem with my fabrics fraying very much. I find the higher quality fabrics don't fray as much as the lesser quality.

give them a bit of starch.

Cutting straight with the grain and starch both hekp. If doing curves for applique, a tiny bit of fray-check may be needed.

Thanks for your help...Joann Fabrics has the Best Press on Sale right now in a Gallon and also the Spray so I'm going to buy some of that and use that.
