I have been looking at invisi-GRIP but I read some not so great reviews that say it does not work well. Also read sandpaper dots can make the ruler hard to reposition. Any suggestions of what works for you?? Thanks in advance

I use the clear dots

I like the Invisi-grip better than the sandpaper or clear dots.

I'll watch this topic to see -because right now, I sure could use a third hand always.

I haven't found anything that is really good for me. My rulers are all older so I was looking around and found some that I really like. I have been slowly replacing my slippery rulers with creative grids rulers. They have non slip backs and good clear rulers with black writing. Very easy on my eyes.

I use True Grips by the Grace Company. I swear by them! They are like Invisa Grips but better! They come with 15 non-slip adhesive rings and I also use the leftover strips and little dots that are left after pulling the rings off too! I waste nothing!

i bought some invisigrip on sale. Can't say it really makes a difference but it does help a bit

Love the Invisi Grip, because it doesn't elevate the ruler like the dots do.

I use felted dots on mine. I get them at the Dollar Tree.

I use the felt dots you put on the bottom of lamps and knick knacks. I get them at the dollar store.

I like the idea of felt dots........only can imagine dark
green ones & that color sounds like it might fade on the
fabric??????????

I need new rulers, I dont like the Omnigrids with that horrid limey green yellow markings,

I'm cheap. I bought thick vinyal on the roll at JAs. Self sticks to the back of the rulers. Works like a charm!

I just saw thick vinyl at Dollar Tree. Got to try that.
I have tried alot of different dots and nothing works that well.
My spelling just gets worse as I get older.

I use Invisi-grip. It works the best for me.

grandbysquilts 08-10-2011 07:04 AM

Pull a large rubber band over the long side of the ruler. It won't go anywhere and the rubber is out of the way of the cutting side. Does this help?

PegD 08-10-2011 07:18 AM

I use the cork ones from the dollar store and they work pretty good.

Chasing Hawk 08-10-2011 07:20 AM

I use little cork dots on my metal yardstick.

I, too, use the InvisiGrip dots. Really like them alot. Yes, it can be slightly problematic to reposition the ruler just a tad but the non-slip is worth the price to me. I also have a couple of spring clamps that I use sometimes as well.
