How do you like the QuiltCut2 ?

I've been thinking about purchasing the QuiltCut2 fabric cutter system, but before I spend $$$ on one I'd like to know what my quilting friends who've used one think about it..

Since I'm a hobbyist quilter and also an old lady with achy shoulders, etc. do you think it would be useful for me?

Uhm...you can do a search on this board for info on this product and the first Quilt cut....
There are enough threads/subjects that you can find all the opinions of these products.
I have the original Quilt cut...which, at the time I was a newbie, thought it was spendy. However, it is the only cutting surface I have used. Except for the AccuCut/Quilt Die machine...I love it and it was totally worth the money.

I have one. I am impressed with the quality of it and the cutting mat is excellent. It's very heavy so you won't be moving it very much or toting it around. You still have to line up the fabric edge perfectly, just like using a ruler, to not get the V cut in strips. The best features are clamping the fabric down so it won't move and the safety of cutting. I have some trouble with the long ruler guide not moving smoothly on the track. I have to keep a little dab of oil on the track. I really don't use it that much since I got the Go but it's nice to have for cutting up small yardage.

Funny, I was just reading the post on how to cut fabric straight, and I thought, "I never have to worry about that because I have a QuiltCut."

Seriously, I wouldn't be where I am today as a quilter if I didn't have it. I love it.

But I still get off cuts if the fabric isn't lined up perfectly. The guide has to be in the same exact spot for each cut. It does make it easier to cut once everything is lined up.

i have the original model and I love it for cutting strips and pieces. I think it works great but I only paid $40.00 for mine at a rummage sale but it was barely used.!

I've had mine for years and absolutely love it. Right now am doing a sorta block a month quilt and need 64 of 3" squares. Got it done in a flash. Also the several colors of 16 squares each.

when I first got it I kept checking it with a ruler to make sure it was correct. It took me a while to stop that, which is funny because it was always 'right on.'
