I have the Viking Sapphire 930 and love it. Hubby bought me a Berninand I took it back. Hated that machine. I have had a Viking Lily, Designer, and now the Sapphire. Wouldn't have anything else. Every machine ha a learning curve, just like any other new equipment. Hang in there, you won't be sorry.

LOVE my Viking!

As for getting used to the automatic pressure foot: it’s good for our minds to do something different. I switch my dresser drawers around once in a while. Makes me think when I reach for my socks.

My 1st Viking was a Designer 1 combo machine bought in 2000. Used it for 15+ years before trading it in for their Epic. Love how the foot hovers just above the fabric so you can move it around a bit but still have your needle down into the fabric. Had a Babylock machine and I think it hovered too but now can't remember but my little Brother machine doesn't and I sure hate having to lift up the foot every time to pull my fabric out. Guess we get used to certain things.

I’ve had my Viking ( Designer One) for 14 years and love it! In fact when I use a different machine I Hate having to lower the foot, among many other features. Always happy to get back to my Viking. I have 4 other machines- nothing compares to all the features my Viking has.
