A friend asked me today about how to make an t-shirt memory quilt. I have never made one. Can anyone give her some advice on what to do? Do you use Pellon fuseable shirt weight?

Check the web, many good instructions sites as well as here on this board.

Here's just one:

The key is to support the T-shirt with interfacing because the t-shirt material is too flexible and will distort without backing. Most of the ones I have seen were sashed.

I thought that's what needed to be done. Thanks for your help!

I've made them before with fusible interfacing on the backs. I like to iron the t-shirt, stabilize it, then cut it to the size I've already decided on. (if your making a 15 inch block stabilizer should be cut larger) I don't use sashing on these either. I generally back them with fleece as well in a favorite color or something that goes with the majority of the t-shirts.
