how do you put in a scalloped lace zipper

I have a bunch of these and want to use them on zip bags but for the life of me cannot find a tutorial on this. Any one have a link?

FabStripper 10-28-2015 06:54 PM

I just saw something about this. Let me go find it.

FabStripper 10-28-2015 07:02 PM

Well I can't find the one I was looking at but this one works http://www.thehomemakery.co.uk/blog/...pper-tutorial/

I would just sew them directly on the outside of my fabric. The edge is pretty so I would want it to show.

Never seen these zippers before. Wonder what next they will do in reinventing the zipper. I would agree that you need to sew these on the outside.

someone was telling me the other day that the latest fad was using metal or exposed zipppers as opposed to hidden zippers in totes & pouches. she was so surprised and worried about how to use them. just like these pretty lace zips. looking at these two tutes, which are excellent and well illustrated, i am reminded again that a lot of quilters today weren't home sewers who took up quilting after the clothes making for the kids was done :)

Thank to you all. These are two great tutes....I will have fun with my new zips now. I already have an idea for some pencil holders. I will post when I get them done.

Omigosh, those are so pretty!! I have not seen those yet! Okay, now I need to go make something with a zipper.... :D

I have seen them in JoAnn's and Hancock's when Hancock's was here. Found couple at an estate sale for 10 cents each.

I got mine at JoAnn's over the summer for $4.98 for a 9"
pricy but waiting for something special to use it on.

I've never seen those zippers before. They sure add a nice element to things.

Gaby 10-30-2015 03:39 AM

Hope you get them done quickly as I have a few of those zippers and not yet used them. When
I bought them, they told me to sew them on top of my project,
I look forward to seeing what you did.

I have never heard of or seen these before I did a google search thanks to this thread. I'll have to be on the lookout for them. Thanks for sharing.

There was a sample bag at our LQS that used those zippers, and it was really sweet, but I don't know what the pattern was,. I have to run in there today or tomorrow, so I will check and get back to you on the pattern.
