Wow, I am not alone nor crazy!
|
I went down to my basement to sew today and got side tracked. There was a bad smell. Then I noticed water on the floor. The sump pump was running over time. We had so much rain this morning the storm sewers were backing up.... It did quit and I do have a mess. So I took pictures of some of my machines and put them on the vintage pictures page 6. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-130994-1.htm

I go to my LQS for open sew sessions. The other ladies & guys are all busy so it is easy to get a project going and there is help if a problem comes up. We have a great time, and then I want to spend a couple hours a day on it so I have progress to show at the next open sew. This is a great motivator for me. PS, my LQS is a 35 minute drive from my house.

Our summers are too short so I don't do as much quilting or sewing. I want to be outside as much as I can be. Our winters are so long that it isn't hard to stay motivated to sew!! It's either sew or go more nuttier than I already am!!!

I am quilting because here in Texas it has been 109,112,107 degrees the past 3 days

I read a story about artists (painting ones) rcently in a Southwester Art Magazine and one of them mentioned they have to force themselves sometimes to start.

Charisma gave me the best advice. She said that she really doesn't waste time with decisions. She decides what she wants to do and then does it. I do a lot better when I follow her advice.

I know, isn't it the strangest thing! |
When a fire gets lit under me..Like a promised quilt and deadline looming!

On these nice days I spent weeding my flowers garden's with all is rain they got away from me

I'm not sure I am focused. So many "have-to" fill my life and I yearn to quilt. I just don't put housecleaning as a very high priority, except when company's coming. Our church and our grandchildren and friends keep us busy. I would love to sew a lot more than I am able. When I have time, I will just sew non-stop because I just love it. I would forget to eat unless I was starving.

what's focused? I can do that...for a little while, but once I get good and interrupted, lol...I'm still focused...on something else! |

MerryQuilter - you could throw some of the rain down this way! I'd come weed your yard!

So my nice sewing room, which is nice and cool, blinds opento watch the one huge tree we have that gives the house shade all day. So I can be in my little room with no problems.

I play smile.fm radio while I work. You can stream it on your PC http://smile.fm/
Because I sometimes go go quilting bees to work on Miracle quilts, I have most of my stuff in a bin on wheels, so if I had a covered porch where it's nice, I certainly would haul my hiney outside to work. Stick my speakers in the windows, and I'm in my own little world. Unfortunately my deck is an oven in the afternoon, so I hafta work inside. |

I have a head full of ideas, a room full of fabric and plenty of time LOL but I find that there is always something else to be done. For instance, I just finished cleaning the house and dinner is in the crock pot. I am now sitting out on the deck cause it is gorgeous out and I dont' want to be in the house. Not bringing my machine outside, it's too big and I am sure I would be jumping up and down a million times to run back in for all the things I need. I really would like to know the secret :) |
Focused....Well it is simple. I just go into the sewing room and put on music.......Oh speaking of music did you see Idol last week? It was amazing!!!........ Oh amazing reminds me of what the cat did yesterday. He was sitting on top of the cabinet and he.......Have you seen the video of the cat that smokes cigarettes? That is awful.......... Speaking of awful did you see the news last night...........Wait what was the question???
