How do you store water soluble stabilizer?
 

We live in a very damp climate and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about storing water soluble stabilizers?? (They don't do well exposed to air.) The original packaging does not always hold together well and the rolls don't fit in the plastic zipper bags.

You can get some really large zipper bags. I keep mine in the plastic containers they come in and the scraps I keep in a ziplock. I haven't had any problems. I guess you could also use totes to store them in.

Use a bag that you suck out the air with the vacuum?

Are they too big for the 2 gallon zip lock bags? I think I've also seen a 5 gallon zip lock bag somewhere too.

I use a Tupperware-style tote, make sure to "burp" out the excess air.

Ziploc has some huge bags - don't know the exact sizes but they are called Big Bags and come in Large, XL and XXL. I remember that they weren't cheap but then it isn't something that you will be replacing. I think they would be better than a rubbermaid box.

My grocery store sells zip lock bags large enough for a quilt to fit inside. They are made by Zip Loc and are in the same place as the other sizes.

You all have given this some thought! Wow! I thought what I did was just fine, but now I have some alternatives I just HAVE to try! PS...no, I'm not having problems with mine...yet...THANKS!

Hefty has a One Zip bag that's 2.5 gallons that I get from BJ's/Costco. There's also the aforementioned Big Bags that you could almost fit 2 babies in the XXL bag--they are pricey but worth it, got mine from Amazon. As a last resort just put them in a Tall Kitchen trash bag and tie it up.
