Let us know how it turns out. Personally, I've never yet been successful with that self-binding technique – I've had it turn out wrong in three different ways. I'd love to see your quilt when done, because it's a cool-looking technique.

I just discovered another you tube video entitled "how to make a flannel baby blanket" and you wouldn't even have to birth your quilt. Although it doesn't show the use of a batting it could be easily be sandwiched in.
