I've come across a chance to purchase a BROTHER PE 700 11 EMBROIDERY MACHINE.

I've never been interested in a embroidery machine because I thought they would be frustrating.. but I've run across one that I don't know if I should purchase or not.. It is a decent price, I know I have things that I could use it for - but will it be stressful for me to use it? Is it fairly easy to use?

I would appreciate any opinions/insight. I've only worked with a Janome Memory Craft 4400 which is just very basic. I know absolutely nothing about hooping, stabilizers, and all that jazz..

Thank you for your thoughts :)

I have an older Brother embroidery machine and my mom has a newer, fancier one. They are both very easy to use and they also sew a pretty accurate 1/4" seam!

If the price is right, go for it.

If you get it, you will learn plenty about hoops and patterns and stabilizers! lol Once you get one design stitched out, you will want to embroider everything and you will learn!

I have a friend that has one of the lower/older model Brothers, and she says sometimes hers has a "bad day".. and she has to baby sit it it while it is stitching. I just don't know if I'm ready for the frustration but I guess I could get it and if I don't enjoy it, I could sell it??

Yes- if it is a good price and you have the cash try it - you might like it  I have the Brother SE270D and it was simple to learn - the hardest part is learning what stabilizer to use for what  But even that info can be found here

I have had three brother embroidery machines. I still have two of them. Brother machines are very user friendly and their instruction book is easy to follow and indexed so you can locate the information you need. If you can get it at a reasonable price I would go for it. They also do fine job at just sewing too.

I have a Brother ce-350 with embroidery. I was not sure if I would use the embroidery. (Wanted a new machine cheap and the price was great) I use the embroidery alot. You can make labels for your quilts.
My embroidery is very easy to use. I have never had to babysit. Just make sure that you use stabilizer.
