I use whatever works for me at the time. Like Toni C stated, I'm going to try the rubber cement.

I have some templates I've made myself. I mark on them what size and between the templates and rulers so far so good.

I was "cruising" eBay......lots of templates being offered and reasonable prices...some even free shipping.....quilting templates is the category....just suggesting if anyone is shopping for any...no affiliation here

I use the very tiny 18 mm Olfa cutter when I use my Hex acrylic template.

I never use a rotary cutter without a safety tool. For small templates I use the cut resistant glove and this tool is excellent for smaller rulers: The Little Gypsy Gripper.

People seem to either love them or hate them. I've used Marti Mitchell's templates and liked them. I put some grip tape on the back of each template and used a small rotary cutter. I love how accurate they make your piecing.

I love mine. My hubby went to Lowe's and bought an acrylic sheet and had it cut into all different sizes for me.
