How long does W &N batting last on a bolt?

Joanns is having a more than half off sale for a bolt of warm and natural batting ($209). It will take me years to go through it but I love the price. Does batting ever go bad?

Nope. With good storage, it should probably never go bad. Maybe you could share it with a friend?

wow, I hope not! think of all the quilts we are making with it with the hope that they get passed down to our grand, grand, grand, grands!

As long as it is protected from moisture/ humidity (and critters) it should last as long as you need it to.... After all, we put it in quilts we expect to out last us

Last a very long time, just control the humidity the same as storing cotton fabrics.

Sandra, did you get a text or email about this sale? How did you find out about it? Thanks!

I've already gone thru 2 this year...LOL, it doesn't have time to go "bad" around here!!!!!

I've had one of those bolts for a few years now...obviously I am NOT a prolific quilter. Have had no issues with it deteriorating at all. And neither have the quilts I've made with this batting (all of them) over the last 10-15 years. I have the bolt standing in a corner in my sewing room. Only spot available but it works.

I have never had a problem with a roll of batting. In my quilting years (mostly for customers), I have probably used over 60 full rolls of Hobbs 80/20. Yes, proper storage is important especially keeping it clean.
