How long a nap on Minky can you quilt?

I have had great success using Minky on the back of quilts and running them through a Statler longarm machine. I have used the rather short (3mm) nap product as well as the dimpled style with no issues.

Would like to hear about anyone's experience using the rose patterned Minky or the ones with the rather long nap.

Thanks in advance---

Dale

Just laughing at myself. When I read your title quickly I thought, "Yeah, taking a nap on minky would be so great! Bet I could sleep for hours on it!" I've never used it myself, so can't answer your question now that I understand it.

i have made several quilts for my gr daughters using the swirled minkie for backing and doing fmq w my janome 1500PQ ..no problems. i have also made the "fuzzy blankets" w minkies of different styles on front and flannel for backing, machine tacked at 4" intervals on my old necchi domestic machine. don't remember model number but i bought it mew in '82. i have had no problems working w minkie on my domestic machines.

I have quilted I think all of the different Minky's on my APQS Longarm with no problems. There was one that the gal had gotten I believe at Hancock fabrics that reminded me of fake fur (really long nap)but it really was a minky and when I started with it I wasn't sure about it. But in even quilted up nice. As long as the biggest stretch goes east and west I have never had a problem and really like how the minky looks quilted up.
