how to make the centre lay better
 

Hi every one
Was wondering is there a trick to doing this ?
I am trying to make this round design and i,m getting a bump in the centre.
Could some one tell me what i,m doing wrong and how to stop it .

While the tute is for an 8 point lemoyne star the principal is the same. I used this technique to do my Kaleidoscope quilt and this block is a kaleidoscope block with 6 triangles forming the hexi.

Here's another opinion. I iron my seams open when making hexagons from 60 degree triangles. And as Tartan mentioned, you have all those bias edges, so starch heavily, and handle gently. Don't pull or push them when sewing.

Release the 2-3 stitches within the seam allowance and redirect how the seams lie.
This works for your kind of block as well as the graphic below.

Thanks every one for the help . So i guess i,ll take it apart and start it again and retrim them if i have to .

i have been making a lot of 6 point stars & hexies lately. After trying many different methods here is my simplest:
Attach 2 sides to center piece on both sides. Seam fabric (back) naturally go out, almost like doing flying geese on back, tips should match. do second half same way. Sew 2 halves. Now press center seam open. Point fabricis evenly distributed and not a lot of pressing.
