The more stitching, the firmer the quilt. W&N is great for wall hangings, table toppers, etc., but not for cuddly quilts. Hobbs POlydown or Heirloom cotton makes a cuddly quilt, as does the Quilters Dream cotton. A finer thread does help, but it's mostly the amount of thread that makes the difference. Get ready for the winching..lol...I use Walmart low loft polyester batting and 90" 100% cotton permanent press muslin from Walmart for the backing on all my quilts. Of course a lot of my quilts are tied but they wash up so soft and cuddly......just ask my kids and grandbabies! I wash and dry them right at home and they don't fall apart. Love the feel of them!
