I want to make a Turning Twenty quilt but not sure of the measurments. if I want a 10 " block , I then cut it into thirds and sew them in a pattern through out the quilt top? Of course they would all be cut the same sizes. Hope someone can understand this. thanks

I have made Turning 20 several times. If you are trying to make the quilt larger just add more blocks or wider sashing. My quilt turned out nice by just adding more blocks. Good luck please post pictures.

You need the pattern and the layout. A fun quilt to make. I did it in black and white for niece a wedding gift.

Do a search (top of this page) for Wedding Quilt with Sewgull. Show the black and white quilt.

Sewjean, I really like the pinwheel quilt in your name line.
What pattern is it?

I just call it a Pinwheel quilt. I made a templet of cardboard and cut strips(8" wide) as wide as I wanted the pieces to be. Then I traced each piece on the back of the strips, cut out & sewed together. I made the black to set it together. You have to be careful & lay the templet face up or they point in the wrong direction. It was a lot of tracing! There might be a better/easier way but I didn't know what it was.
Maybe someone else will have more of a pattern!!

In the pinwheel quilt I had 1 yd each of the colors & 4 yards of the black. The border is all of the extra pieces from cutting.

I have the Turning 20 pattern and would really like to send it to both of you, but due to the copyright laws and being fair to the creator/author of it, I recommend doing a search and purchase the pattern.

Someone gave me the pattern and I will try to find it for you. Or ask your friend?
