I am going to make a quick quilt with a layer cake. All but the 4 center squares are HST. I need 44 blocks which comes to 22 matches since 2 sqrs make 2 HST.......right?
Am I off on this amount? I KNOW for some reason I am just going brain dead on this. I have been figuring since lat night LOL
I am using the Natrual Garden group.
I want to make a quick one so I feel like I have accompleshed something this week.

I think that 44 x 10in squares will make 44 9in HST blocks, and if you need 4 centre squares, then the total would be 48 x 10in squares altogether. Does that make sense?

2 squares sewn together yield 2 HST blocks/squares

If you are making a 44 square block quilt - what is the layout?

or are you doing a 6 x 8 layout and you need 44 HST blocks with four other blocks?

44 HST with the 4 whole in the center. Just scrappy with 2 each of my 2 fav 10" sqs. in the center.
