We seem to be getting more and more Aussies on board. How many from different states do we have? I see there are a few from Ipswich. I was born and grew up there but have been a Brisbanite for the last 55 years.
Another question - for the Victorians. I will be in Melbourne in a month's time. Are there any quilt shops I should be visiting. As I will be staying in Docklands I need to be able to reach them by public transport. |

Hi Caer Urfa, I am in Melbourne. There are a few good shops near town.
http://www.designerstitch.com.au/fabric-shops/vic.html Most of these are near public transport. http://www.designerstitch.com.au/fabric-shops/vic.html This shop is fabulous - and they hold regular workshops. Also go to Brunswick St, Rose St Markets, Abbotsford Convent Shirt and Skirt Markets! http://www.harvesttextiles.com.au/home.html And there is a place that does hand dyed embroidery cottons - will try to find it for you. PM me if you want a shopping companion. . . . and also, there is the http://melbournemodernquiltguild.com/ if you want to sit and sew, or post a request for sources, or check out what is already posted there. Cheers Rainy PS There is a get together planned for this saturday in Melbourne - the 16th of April. I will be at the Shrine on Anzac Day, which is in the city. |
