Dear quilters, I am trying to figure out how many six inch finished blocks I will need to make a twin size quilt ?????
the size of the quilt is 65 x 88...so far I have arrived at three different amounts of blocks I will need 170...105...and I can't remember the other number... any help will be appreicated. thank you |
Will there be borders on this quilt too?
|
Are you planning on sashing between blocks?
|
You will need 165 blocks (11 blocks x15 blocks). The quilt would then measure 66x90 inches. This is without any sashing between the blocks and no borders.

Here's my take. Assuming no borders or sashing it would be 11 by 15 or 165ish that would make it 66 1/2 by 90 1/2 which is the closest I come.

As neither of those is divisible by 6, you will need to add borders to make up the difference. 65 divided by 6 is 10 blocks with 5" left for borders. 88 divided by 6 is 14 with 4" left for borders. 10 x 14 = 140 blocks.

You guys are the greatest, thank you... 140 blocks with borders sounds like a plan...off to my dungeon to get buzzy... thank you all.
