I was just curious how many of you received these for Christmas? Are you getting addicted yet? :D:D:D

Mousie 12-25-2009 08:12 PM

I was trying to read my manual earlier, but started nodding off.
Wish I could blame it on all the holiday foods, but unfortunately this has been going on for a couple years now.
I will just have to read a few pages at a time, until I get the hang of it.
woo hoo! :-P

sharon b 12-25-2009 08:28 PM

Still waiting to get mine  But will be living thru all of you that has it  LOL

nursie76 12-25-2009 09:50 PM

Got mine, watched some of the videos today, started chapter 1 but then had to head to bed last night...not hooked yet, but won't be long! Already have downloaded and update from the EQ website and tons of new fabric swatches!

janRN 12-26-2009 05:42 AM

I was just going to try mine out for a little while after downloading it but 3 hours later I finally stopped only because it was time to start dinner! It is too much fun-I can see spending a lot of time playing with it. I've only done the easy stuff--we'll see how much I like it when it gets more in depth. Oh good-another addiction!!

Bevanger 12-26-2009 06:47 AM

not me :-( :-(

ginnie6 12-26-2009 06:54 AM

nor me....and sadly will never be. I'm on a linux system.

brushandthimble 12-26-2009 10:15 AM

Waiting to get one....It it on the top of my list, need to quilt one or two quilts for the $$$. I have one waiting...and waiting...never tell me you are not in hurry for your top to be finished LOL
It belongs to a friend and student, of course for a true client it would have been done by now:)

Awww but once EQ is paid for this addiction is FREE!!! No calories, hangovers, or ill effects....well, maybe a few late dinners LMBO

amma 12-26-2009 08:42 PM

I thought there would be more members who received it than this LOL

Definitely another addiction developing here! Maybe we need to start a support group thread!

I use linux too, but my laptop is dual boot. I can boot up windows when I need to access software that doesn't play with linux. :)

nursie76 12-27-2009 02:39 PM

Sounds interesting.....especially since I am new at this. You guys are going to have to hold me by the hand and talk me through this.

amma...the owner of my LQS does EQ swaps all the time. She likes them better than the "real" thing. Actually, she does an EQ RR...but then she comes out from the back of the store and
"pets" my IRR projects.

I bet there are several more on the board who got the DJ software for Christmas...lots of us ordered it this year. :D

Jim's Gem 12-29-2009 12:16 PM

I got it but haven't had time to install yet. Maybe today!!!!
I also signed up for a class that starts in February on how to use it.

vicki reno 12-29-2009 12:20 PM

I got mine in for Christmas and am trying to figure it out. I want to alternate 2 blocks to look like a picture I saw. I got the square within a square block so far, but would really like a nine patch within the middle square. Will read some more before I get too frustrated.

I've been playing!! See!! :-D

I had to create the block I wanted for the log cabin--that's my next quilt, well one I'll work on along with others. I love the applique' look, but don't know if I'm up to it. The baby quilt is just playing with two blocks. I picked many out of Marsha McCloskey's Block Party book and stuck them in the scrapbook so I could play with color ideas.

Jim's Gem 12-30-2009 02:25 PM

Pretty Karla. I love your log cabin quilt!!! That's a beautiful layout!! I haven't gotten very far with my EQ I watched a couple of the video's but haven't played yet. I'm hurting today, don't feel like doing much of anything.

whinnytoo 12-30-2009 02:27 PM

I got EQ6 upgrade from 'santa'.............. have to take some time and learn lots more!!!

amma 12-30-2009 02:33 PM

Woo Hoo Barnbum!!! Isn't it easier to play with the log cabin blocks with this? So much easier on the knees and back, that alone can easily pay for the program :D:D:D

Vicki, if you are still stuck, send me a PM and I will gladly help :D:D:D

barnbum 12-30-2009 02:37 PM

YES! I spent hours on the floor deciding on the design for my last one. I had to photograph each idea, then turn 80+ blocks again. This is much easier! :-D

nursie76 12-30-2009 07:44 PM

Whohoo! You have been busy! I have finished chapter 1 and started 2, have about 13 quilts saved, haven't figured out how to share them with you yet....course they aren't anything but practice, so maybe not sharing yet is a good thing. lol

Oklahoma Suzie 12-31-2009 07:28 AM

I'm still playing with EQ 5
