I've seen a lot of posts indicating that many people have this machine and really like it. A year and a half ago I replaced a very basic Brother with a Janomoe 4100QDC. I bought it from a local dealer for about $700 (Canadian). What would a 6600 run me, approximately, in US or CDN$?
I see that the 6600 has a much longer throat and the accu-feed system appeals to me, and it would be nice to have two machines, depending on the cost. |
I think I paid 1100 or 1200 in Alberta, Canada back in the spring...Mine came with the table also.

I bought mine used a month ago but it was only used a couple of times and was like new. I paid $800 for it and I love it. The acufeed system is wonderful. I would check on EBay. My dealer sells them new for $1500. but I'm sure you can find them cheaper than that. I actually bought it as a backup because my Viking was going in the shop, but now I think it will be my main machine. Love my Viking too tho.

I paid $1400 USD about a year and a half ago.

I think my LQS is really high. They still wanted 1600 for it a few months ago.. I saw today on the website they want 1500.

BTiny36: Wow, you did well! I'm thinking Kijiji would be a good place to look. Just checked eBay but they don't have any right now.

I just bought a used machine from a dealer last week for $1000. New was $1600. Mine came with unlimited free instruction and free classes. Plus my dealer is within an hour of my home....double bonus.
|
I've read everything from $900-$1600 USD, new.
|
Lowest new retail I have found here was 1699.
|
They range from $1000-$1700 here in my area also. Insane! It pays to shop around! Also look at the Elna 7300 bc it is the same machine and you might find a good deal on that one.

I have the Elna 7300. Bought it a year ago- floor model- from a dealer and cost me $1099. Free classes, tune-ups for two years. Love it. Does everything!

Thanks everyone for chiming in, this gives me a really good idea of what to plan for. I'm not going to be getting one immediately, but I can save up for one, that's for sure. The only problem if I get one will be that I will need to finish part of my basement to make into a sewing room. There's no room on my dining room table for two machines. Guess I'd better save all my pennies!
