How much fabric do you buy?

When you see something you like, or a sale, (not with anything in mind), how much do you buy, for a future project?

At least 2 yards

Way, way too much! Because dd and I spent almost 2 weeks in a vain attempt to get all my fabric organized she's made me promise not to buy anymore. Of course, she doesn't know about the 3 fabrics I found at Goodwill today---all total, 8 yds. lol

I buy 2 yards. I started off buying one yard....not enough for some ideas I had later. Then I switched to buying 3 yards...had more left over than I thought I would most of the time. Now I buy 2 yards. :) Works for me.

I buy at least 6 yards. that way I have plenty for what I want it for and lefct overs for the scrap box.

Like it . . . . 1 yard
LOVE it . . . . 3 yards
REALLY, REALLY love it . . . . 6 yards!!!!

Mostly 2 yards. There are some things like tonals that I only buy 1 or 1.5 yards of, and some others that I'll buy 2 yards of.

Then there are the "end of the bolt sales" where I get 30% off for buying the end (so yeah - I wander around the LQS looking ONLY for skinny bolts) and I'll buy whatever is there!! And the sales here on QB too - if I like it I buy it.

I'm new to this too so I have been buying 2-3 yard lengths, or finish off a bolt to get additional discount at some LQS.

I always buy 3 yards and if it seems to be a fabric I may want to use in a border then I buy 5 or 6 yards.
