Ok your in your favorite fabric store and you find this fabric you just can't live without.....and it's on sale ....how much do you buy..no particular pattern in mind it's just really bootiful! What if it's not on sale but you have to have it...
1. if it's not on sale I get a yard 2. if it's on sale I get 2 yards 3. if it's the most amazing price I may buy the whole bolt - bought 120" white on 100% cotton at walmart for $2 yard bought whole bolt about 12 yards |
Well I will buy 4 yards if I absolutely love it! Other than that if I know it is just a filler 1-2 yards and average 3 yards on anything else. LOL. I know! Spendy right? I will also but the whole bolt of I know I will use it for a backing.

I'd say 1.5 yards, regardless of price, especially if I don't know what I'll do with it. Then I begin a quest through all my books and magazines to get ideas of how to use it. Sometimes it takes a long time to decide what to do with it. Sometimes having the fabric and not doing anything is the result. You all know what I mean!

YEP! It's called a stash!!
I seem to be stuck on 3 yards, if I know I will use it in a top eventually
If I really like it - 3 yards. If I just like it - at least 1 and 1/2 :)
I like to buy 3 yds., I don't want to run out and later can't find anymore when I'm ready to use it. If there's only 3-5 yds. on bolt, I buy it all!!
I seem to be stuck at 2 yards, but after reading the other responses I may have to increase it to 3!
If it is regular price, I buy 3 yards. If a good sale, up to 6 yards. If it is a really, really good sale I'll take the bolt. Who can say I love fabric.
If I can't live without it I buy 3+ yards, if I like it 2+yards...if it is a really good sale then I will buy much more :D:D:D
