Have you ever determined how much fabric by weight you need to make a quilt? I make scrappy quilts, so yardage requirements is of no value. Do you know how much fabric by weight I would need to make diffrent sizes of quilts?

I can honestly say I've not thought of it in those terms!! :D I can just imagine going to the LQS and asking for a 1/2 lb. of this and 1/4 lb. of this and this one 3/4 lb. Thank you!

I weighed 12-13 yds of quilt shop quality fabric and it weighed between 4 & 5 lbs.

This amount of fabric is what I use for a queen bargello.
