I ask $35.00 a consignment shop sold one of mine for $40.00 mine are the mini Bow Tucks

It depends on the length of handles --I make the full size Bow Tucks and charge $75 for one made with short (handbag length) handles and $80 for one made with shoulder straps.
I charge $50 for the mini Bow Tucks with shoulder straps.

When I was selling the Bow Tucks I charged $35 or $40 ... but I recently saw a Mini Bow Tucks at a craft sale with a price of $55!!

They are purses and totes that are all the rage right now.

I sell mine for $38.00. It is reasonable for the time and materials, don't you think? I would charge more, but, people in this area won't pay any more than that with the economy in such a mess. But, all that being said, I don't have the overhead cost of a booth or space at a craft fair.

Thank you. Yours is lovely. It looks like it has a pocket and a zipper. Does it have stiffening? From the picture, it seems to be about 10X10. I'm not sure what the green "string" fabric is.

I gotta ask, what makes a "Bow Tuck" different from any other handmade fabric bag? How big are they, why are they called "Bow Tuck"? Can they be done in several sizes? Who out there is the expert and since several of you sell these gizmos, do you have more pics?

if you have a bow patteren it it really easy to make different sizes so have fun yes i use stiffner and batting and once you see the pattern you can change them to any design they are so fun

When you quilted yours did you use a decorative stitch? Love the embroidery on the pocket. I wish I had an embroidery machine.

If I charged for my time, then I would have to give out credit applications with every purchase.

Type in Bow Tucks in the search up top and you will find lots of examples.

Ok I took my bow tucks to work the other day. Someone mentioned that I should try to sell them on the internet. She told me that I should take orders for things that I make.

1)I don't know how to go about selling anything on line.

2) I work a full time job so I don't get to work on projects all day. If I am lucky maybe on my vac. days or a saturday or 2 will be all day. I work on projects in the evening until I go to bed. But not always everyday.

3) I am not quick at making something. But knowing I need to get it finished I will work on it as much as possible.

4) If I were to take orders would I just make it with what ever fabric I want and the way I want (like the bow tucks with a button or snap)?

5)Do I need to build a supply of things before trying to sell them especially on line?

How do you sell your projects?

rexie 08-22-2010 06:16 PM

If you take orders, then you are more or less obligated to do the work for them. If you make them and then sell them, you can move at your own pace.

Up North 08-22-2010 06:20 PM

After I started making them people wanted certain colors and I have to drive 100 miles round trip for fabric- I would rather sell what I have made up with fabric I have.
