I've got some pieces that belonged to hubby aunt who died at age 100 a couple years ago. She quilted for next to forever. So, I'd say some pieces are well over 70 years old.

1984 for my own stuff - a tan calico from Joann's used to make a comforter and bumper pads for birth of DS #1. :-)

I have a few 2.5" squares left over from the nine-patch I made 40 years ago.

1920's...I was given a stash of an elderly lady. Neither of her granddaughters sew...and the bank called and asked if I wanted it...yep, I did. It's nice living in a small town, and having the bank know you quilt.. I did two quilt tops that came in the stash in return for these ladies.

As I folded it , and placed it carefully back in the bin... I wondered if I am the only one that has scraps that old?

I have several flour sacks from the '30's, and also a 4-yard piece, 36" wide, of grey paisley with a sticker on it that says "JC Penney-4 yards for $1.00. Don't know if I'll ever use them, I enjoy the conversations they evoke.

46 years old. It is from a dresses that I made for my children's first days at school. I am using them now to outline a picture frame for each child's picture.

I have some from my great grandmother's stash and she was sewing before my DGM was born--in 1904. I guess they must be pretty old.

Talking about how old is your fabric does anyone ever worry about older fabric ripping loose because of the age of fabric?? About 15 or so years ago I won a quilt at a raffle. It was made with older fabric but so cool. I have it on my bed a lot because it is not overly heavy, has thin batting. Anyway after a while the fabric started to look like it was disintegrating. Just pulling apart. So-------wondering would anyone not use older fabric because of this?? feel bad but I just keep on using it, I like to quilt but am not into redoing so much of the top. What would you do??
