Mine was started in 1993 and is still unfinished. It is a Biscuit Quilt for a camping trailer that I sold in 1994. Weighs a ton and is almost done, guess I need to finish it.

I have the "FABRIC" that I purchased in late 70's for a Lone Star Quilt. Does THAT count as a quilt? lol ! Ya'll have inspired me to wash fabric again and "git er done!!! " or at least STARTED.... Thanks for the kick in the b***! :)

Late 1996, I think. It is 114" x 114" and is being hand quilted ... obviously not very fast! Although many of the smaller squares and triangles are not yet quilted, those unquilted portions are secure and I plan to finish the last 6 outer blocks this fall and put the binding on. With the binding on, it will be easier to manipulate the quilt to work on all the little parts. It is the first quilt I ever made and the quilt police should never see this quilt; it might be fatal for them ... there are so many wrong things ... thread, fabric, backing, color value!! I finish it because DH loves it (and nags me occasionally about it) and I am one who needs to finish stuff, if at all possible, no matter the problems or how long it takes.

I found some really wonky blocks that my 2 sisters and I put together when we were very young. I have it ready to put on the machine, but just lately had a mild heart attack and I am recovering well. I just love this old quilt and I've got to get it finished. Gonna quilt it good or it might fall apart. LOL The blocks could be 60 or 70 yrs old. They're dirty, but I can't wash it until it is quilted or it will for sure fall apart.

LOL, this isn't quilting, but I still have a baby afghan I started knitting back in 1970 when I was expecting my first baby. I made the mistake of telling #1 son about it and he asks about it sometimes when he is feeling ornery. Someday I have got to finish it. Good luck with your daughter's quilt! :-)

Mine is my daughters wedding quilt, Im ashamed to say. It has 3700 pieces, I pieced it by hand and had the top done for her wedding shower. After the shower she gave it back to me to hand quilt. I have been working on it, on and off. Its about 2/3 of the way done and they just celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on Sept. 11th. Its queen size.

When my husband's grandma died, she left a lot of quilts in various stages, and there was NO other person interested in them I do have a 2 fabric quilt that only needs some hand quilting. I have not even thought of trying to finish it, something for my kids to inherit. I have 4-5 that I HAVE finished that are packed away, to be inherited, so don't be too shocked that that one is unfinished |
I'm pleased to say, I only have one UFO and it is less than a year old. But, I have 5 finished cross stitch from about 20 years ago that are waiting to be framed together, somehow. They are 5 women from around the world. I call the grouping Ladies in Waiting. And they are still waiting. :)
