OK longarmers. I think I have the old Voyager sewing well again. I just have to clean the tension assembly after each project, and can't use pre-wound bobbins. I can live with that. Now I am having problems with my frame. The backs "hammock" on the right side. Always on the right. The frame is level, bars are the same distance apart and roll smoothly. I made sure the back was square, I have rolled the backing from front to back several times, and it does help a bit. I welcome any and all suggestions, please.

Might be that your leaders are not even. Check to make sure they are the same width the whole length of each leader. My aunt had purchased new leaders and after using them on a few quilts discovered she had received these cut incorrectly. They were both narrower in width at one end. She had to take them off the rails and recut them.

I think it's the cat's fault (in your avitar).

This use to happen to me....alot. And naturally, you won't start quilting till you correct it.lol Drove me nuts!
Then I figured out that what was happening is when I was rolling the back up, I didn't have the same tension on one end as I did the other while rolling. Once I figured that out, I was good to go. Hope that helps.

try standing in the center-and rolling-smoothing from the center out to each side as you go- keeping everything smooth from the center out and even on the ends with each turn of the roller.

this sometimes happens to me so i'm watching this.

i was even thinking (today, as a matter of fact)of adding ratchets to the left side of the frame, which is wood, to keep the tension on that side even with the right side.... i don't know.

That is how I do it, and it hammocks only on the right side. I measured the leaders, and they are the same across the bar. Could the frame have warped?
