I really want the accuquilt go studio but I don't do enough applique to justify the purchase. I would love it if one of the LQS would have it in store & let me rent time on it. Maybe credit me with time on the machine if I bought a template & donated it? I've only seen a couple of shops doing this and none in Texas-any ideas?

I think it's an awesome idea for LQS to do. Though, I can see how a good percentage of them, in this economy, don't have the initial funds to invest in all the dies etc. You're talking quite a bit of $$ and so many stores are probably making just enough to stay open.

I know a couple of quilt shops that lets you rent their long arm. Wouldn't hurt to ask how they feel about it.

Thats a great question! Keep us posted. Im going to ask around when I go to our LQS's around town.

I'm sure they'd rather sell them than rent them. But on the otherhand, less time cutting = more time sewing = more completed projects = more fabric purchased for a new project.

Let me know if I can help you! I custom cut fabric with my Studio for quilters and paper for scrapbookers.

My website is being re-done, but see my old website address in my signature. (www.customquiltkits.com)

Actually, quilt stores can't sell the Studio. And the Studio is the recommended commercial machine for Quilt Stores. But, they'd probably like to sell you a GO!

All you can do is ask. if they are wanting to please customers they may just think it is a great idea.

The Go is on sale this week at Joanne's...249.99 I believe is what I saw.

One near me used to rent their machine. You could use their dies or bring your own, but they did have you use your own cutting mat(bought from them).

The library I work at has a cutter that will do fabric or cloth. Cricut-- I think is the name. We don't charge anyone to use it. Mostly it is used by scrapbookers, but I know one lady has cut appliques with it. Maybe othere libraries out in the world have one, too.

A LQS near me rents time on their Studio, it's 3 hours for $30.
