how to quilt hunters star

I made this quilt now I want to quilt it. I know the centers are a bit lumpy where the stars come together just wondering if I do a pantograph will I have problems with the center areas??? I know if I work from the front I have more control but I do not quilt as uniform free motion as I think it should be. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Where you have lumpy areas. You can carefully trim out some of the excess seam allowance (at an angle) and that will help take out some of the bulk.

Try hitting with a hammer to flatten centres.

I would do a Google search on "Hunter Star" and then click on the section with photos. Check out how others have quilted this pattern. That is where I go when I am looking for some inspiration.

There is a beauty on Pintrest with feathers, etc! I'm just doing echo quilting on mine.
