All done my squares, just need some quilting ideas ... I'm pretty good at FMQ so bring on the challenges!

Thanks so much, and happy easter!

Here's a pic of my puppy who is growing up fast! almost 9 months old ... he loves the rain!

For the quilt, I'm seeing vines and flowers (Morning Glory maybe?) making their way up the quilt. I like your pattern. Was it a pain cutting only one size of each square/each fabric?

The dog looks adorable. Maybe he likes the rain because it's cool with all that fur.

My suggestion would be overlapping circles, with maybe a fill in the overlap.

My first thought is like wesing's - something vertical would look nice. Even a simple straight line through each column would look nice ..... but what about using a combining wesing and hcampani ideas?? Something like this?

Terry in the ADK, if you have a Galaxy tablet, select the photo shown here, menu pops up , chose " download to phone". Then go to your gallery ( find downloads), and select that photo. To bring it down in pixels, l use editing ( transform) and bring margines in for a closeup of one area. Then l use the ecid feature that allows you to draw on the photo. ..and " save" . I use this feature to doodle on my own quilts...love it! I use a stylus because l have fat fingers, lol.

I think you have some good suggestions for quilting already and I was going to mention maybe you could do some sort of circles since you have colored squares. Love you fur baby-looks pretty comfy resting there.

No suggestions from me. That is where I always get stuck. Just wanted to say how nice the quilt turned out

I like the ideas of designs with rounded areas to balance the very squared appearance of the squaress. Lots of space for design in negative spaces. I, for one, will be anxious to see shat yu do.

I love leaves! This is the back of one that Harriet did for me.

I love Bernese too!

great quilt! I like Helen C's idea of overlapping circles with a dense fill in the overlap--that way the bright colors will "pop" on the quilt.

hobbykat1955 04-21-2019 02:24 AM

Since it looks like Lattice I'd do vines and leaves...climbing up or down it.

deeleigh 04-21-2019 05:31 AM

love you quilt.....but Really love the puppy!

marytoddliz 04-21-2019 05:50 AM

I love your quilt! I agree the circles would look great. I'm always stuck on the "how do I quilt it now that I'm done piecing!
Post Pictures when you finish it!

Very neat quilt pattern...it’s going to look fantastic when quilted. Don’t forget to post a picture of your quilting motif.

If you want dense quilting, look at some of Judi Madsen’s quilts for ideas. She is an amazing quilter and something like she does would look wonderful on your quilt. I like the pattern you have come up with.

I'm not good at that part either - creating a custom design. Guess that's why I have a Lot of pantograms. But if I am making the quilt a lot of times as I'm doing it, I get an idea of which one will work with it; on what few I have done for others, I let them go through my book I put together and let them choose - after all, they have to look at it - not me.

I love this quilt. It is so fresh and crisp. Whatever you quilt on it will be amazing.

I've got two of her books ... her work is incredible. I won't do her ideas on a quilt this big. I'm not using a long arm, I'm on a domestic. It's a nice one, but still, it takes too long!

Thanks! I love him too! He's adorable, and such a great puppy!

Irishrose2 04-21-2019 02:53 PM

I'm using the "Double C" pattern from Laura at Sewveryeasy (Youtube). It seems like it will go quite quickly if I can force the quilt under the arm. Big quilt, thick batting - what was i thinking?

Jcarpentier 04-21-2019 03:13 PM

Hello. I don't have any quilting ideas but wanted to say I love love love Bernese Mountain Dogs! He is handsome!

Kitsie 04-22-2019 07:06 AM

carol45 04-22-2019 04:12 PM

Friday1961 04-22-2019 05:27 PM

Beautiful quilt and beautiful dog! No suggestions for quilting, sorry.

How about FMQ a mountain lake scene? You know........ a mountain lake, cabin on a picturesque point, smoke curling out of the chimney, someone on the dock with a nice fish on..........big rainbow trout caught on a Caddis fly. :) Well ok.......I haven't the slightest idea what you should do, but will be really interested in seeing it. I'm new to all of this.

Jim
