I just finished assembling my fast and furoous jellyroll quilt and am trying to figure out how to quilt it. Should I stitch in the ditch every other row, every row, or something else? How did you do it?

I will be interested also to know what people have done. My brother's granddaughter lives with him, and I am thinking about doing flowers on her pink quilt.

I quilted mine 1/4 in to the side of the seam with fancy little stitch. I don't care for SITD, I have had too many problems with the seam thread breaking and the quilt coming apart in the wash. You could do a fancy stitch on the seam maybe something that would cause the thread to be on both sides of the ditch instead of right in it.

For my quick JR quilts I've done a pantograph, several different types, and one that was just 4-patch blocks seperated by sashing and corner blocks I did a cross-hatch that just went corner to corner diagonally through the blocks.

I've done a couple of jelly rolls and in each case I've SID every row.
|
I have used a decorative stitch down the middle of each of the strips and it came out great.

I've meandered and used pantos for the strip quilts I've made from jellyrolls.

What are pantos? I finished the quilt by SID every other row.
