here is finished quilt. It was quilted in a ditch on my new JukiTL2010Q.
I new that I can not do hand quilting because I am giving it back to the owner and not being sure where this quilt is going to end at, I did not feel that I can put all that time it will take to hand quilt. But, the whole time I was machine quilting I felt discomfort, knowing that it should have been hand quilted. Most likely I will always feel dissatisfaction, discomfort because of that.

I belive I do not know how to attach an image here, might start a new thread

wow, you are a good friend. I would SITD to keep it simple. This will highlight the pattern and is less complex for you.

I have been looking for this pattern on the internet and had no luck. Can anyone tell me where I pattern.
Thanks.

I have seen several ways to do this design - you can actually buy a template set and piece:
http://www.nancysnotions.com/product...t+templates.do

I think I have seen paperpieces.com have the templates

I have also seen this blog which explains a version which employs applique as a method:

What a wonderful pattern. Don't be concerned about your machine quilting. Your friend will love it!

What a gorgeous quilt you have made! I would quilt just outside the petals ....

I agree. If you notice, the petals line up in a straight row. You could FMQ in the ditch. Do the vertical rows first working from the center out. Then do the same on each angle row working from the center out. And in no time, it will be totally finished.

Beautiful quilt!! I would either STID or echo in the shapes -- it really does not need much fancy quilting IMHO.

Echoing the prints would be fantastic

You get the gold star for doing this... I sat in on a demo two yrs ago on hand piecing this.....making own template....tried, but just could not get it to work.......but would still like to do one....has anyone here done one? Wonder how the templates from nancy notions work. May gave to look into it...although the appliqué site was interesting too..........

Love the pattern! All I can contribute at this time.

I would just meander quilt or stipple all over. I wouldn't get too fancy. That is not the type of quilting for that era of quilt.
