How to Quilt my Allietare quilt
Finished my Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt and am ready to quilt it. I need ideas for quilting. I plan to do this on my Tiara free motion set up. I have asked others how they were doing it on the Allietare thread but have not gotten any response.
It is very scrappy and so I don't want to compete with the business of it. Help, please. |
Can you post a picture here? Not sure which quilt this one is.

here's a link to one on the thread here http://www.quiltingboard.com/quiltin...ml#post7458851 for reference in answering

Here are some images on Google. Is yours done with bright colors or neutral. I would start drizzling different colors of thread if you are planning on LAQ. Hope you can post a photo when the quilt is finished.

I have also done this one, not quilted yet as my LA frame is occupied, but it's such a busy design I think I'll just do a simple edge to edge design, not a meander, neutral thread. Here's mine

Since it is so busy and scrappy I think doing a overall panto type design is your best bet. Anything custom might be lost with all that piecing, colors....JMHO

Terry in the ADK, did you see the finish posted in the Allietare thread recently? It was done with straight line quilting and looks really nice. It's in the last couple pages of the thread.
Beautiful quilt, Gay! |
I bought a simple pantograph from Urban Elements that I plan to quilt mine with.

Gay, I love your colors.....great job. Mine is the colors Bonnie suggested. I did see the straight line quilted one on the thread and am contemplating it. Straight lines are not easy for me on my Tiara. Whatever I do, it will have to be FMQ.
If I can figure out how, I will post a picture. I kept the boarder straight and will bind in a two color one. Thanks for the suggestions/ |
These quilts are lovely and yes very busy! Lots of color, lots of pieces and secondary designs. I think simple quilting would enhance the overall design and not "fight" with the piecing.
