How to quilt small Hunters Star Quilt?

Took a Hunters Star work shop a few days ago. Finished table topper size yesterday and added a couple of small borders today. 40 x 40 It is sandwiched and ready to quilt.... NOW WHAT??? I am not sure of the best way to quilt this. Was thinking just simple STID so as not to take away from lovely design... Just read the post from ctrysass2012 she had LA do a swirly pattern that looked very nice. Not sure I can duplicate such nice quilting on DM. any ideas ? thanks in advance for replies ! BTW the Rapid Fire Hunters Star by Deb Tucker IS the way to make this. No HST, n Y seams. Not cheap but very simple AND easy with terrific results... I am not affiliated with Deb Tucker OR her rulers. Just enjoyed her technique and accuracy!

Please post a picture if you can, before quilting, and after you decided how to quilt it. Sounds exciting.

I would just Stitch In the Ditch, see what you think, then maybe do something else after.

On the one I made I stitched a quarter inch from the seam line in the triangles and along the length of the arrow. I used the seam as my guide so my stitches were straight and consistent. Don't know if you can see the stitches in the picture

I "echo" quilted (1/4" inside all shapes) mine and really like the emphasis it gives to the shapes. "Hunter's North Star is the pattern I used and also had no set-ins or templates needed.

I would also echo quilt the lines too.

I think it would depend somewhat on your block size. Usually I like curved lines on a quilt with a strong linear design, but your quilt is small, and if the block size is also small then the curved lines might not work as well. Can you post a picture?

When I made mine I did quilting in the ditch and it came out great

Thanks everybody! Great ideas! I took the EASY way out on this one and STID it as I needed to get it done and move on to next project. I will be making some more of these so will try all your suggestions. I TOO like the swirly designs on straight lines. Will be making more table toppers and table runners for Christmas so I'll have plenty to practice on.... thanks again ! Can always count on quick replies from The Quilting Boards talented people. Will post picture from I phone when I figure out HOW! LOL !!
