How to quilt this?

I made this quick 3-yard Quilt from Fabric Cafe. I had loads of trouble with it, mostly my fault...didn't cut the fabric correctly and had to buy new teal fabric, so it's darker than the original. Anyway, it's an okay quilt that I will either sell at a yard sale or give to charity, but I have NO idea how to quilt it. I'm horrible at free motion, and I do mostly straight line or SID. Any ideas on this? I'm totally stumped.

FYI...it looks wonky on my felt wall, it's really straight. https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/smile.png

I hate the quilting too. Do curved lines within each square. it's easy to just move your quilt to the right and then to the left. i use my walking foot when i do this. you can do one whole diagonal line across each block. going one way and leave it at that or do again, making curves on each side of the block pieced seams. Lovely quilt.

Your quilt design has lots of fun potential for point-to-point straight line quilting. I focused on the teal portion and drew out three different ideas, each running along a diagonal chunk of the quilt. Those drawings may give you more ideas that you want to play with.

Oh thank you. I got stuck on the dark squares. love the red lines for what to do. The center one is lovely. Gives it just what it needs. maybe with curves too. Anyway, that should help a lot. I like ingenious people.

Cute quilt! I might SITD but follow the teal fabric down in the zig zag pattern.

I am quilting design challenged, plus am equipment challenged :) When I need some way to hold a quilt together sturdily, more and more often I am choosing a serpentine stitch as being machine washable and less noticeable. Here's a similar quilt, it is one of the 3- or 5-yard designs.

I do lots of quilts for PL usually 36x42. Qilting is usually on the diagonal 2-3 inches apart. Fast and easy. Use washable markers to draw the lines.

Oh Iceblossom, that looks so comfy!! Love the colors too.

I love the straight lines in the middle also. I bought a book with a lot of designs made with a walking foot that make similar patterns. My least favorite part of quilting is making the sandwich and basting together; especially on large quilts.

Your quilt is darling! I would SITD and all a few cross overs in the open areas.
