I didn't embroider the square first, oops it isn't even closely centered and the text runs over the edge.

I though I might just seam rip the square out and and put another in with an applique stitch around the edge where the seam would have been?

Any better suggestions?

Thanks!

Unless you are a perfectionist I would say just leave it. No one is perfect!! It probably would have worked out better if you hadn't arched the lettering. Is it a gift or for yourself?
crafty_linda_b who is far from perfection!!

Surgery.

Undo the seams attaching the short brown strip and the white piece, and go a couple inches more at each end (vertically).

Redo that whole section (new embroidered white piece attached to new brown strip - remember to calculate the original sizes with seam allowances).

Then reinsert the new section by first sewing the top and bottom seams. Press those seams. And now do the vertical ones. Press.

There won't even be a scar.

Just work slowly, think about your next move, watch where you're sewing, and I guarantee you that the patient will recover.

Welcome to this specialized branch of surgery. ;-)

Since I was making this for a gift for the reunion it must look better than this.

Thanks for the support and advice

MTS advice/intructions - are very clear.

This is something that is very doable -

and you will like the project MUCH better after you upgrade it.
