HST quilt question

How many HST'S and what size cut should they be for a 40x60 crib quilt? I am doing a zig zag pattern in rainbow colors.

Help!

Thank you.

If you start with 5" charms to make your HST's, you'll end up with 4" HST's. 6" charms will end up as 5" HST's. With 5" charms you would need 10 across and 15 down for a total of 150 HST's. With 6" charms; you need 8 across & 12 down for a total of 96 HST's.

Thank you so much Beverly! You have no idea how much of a lifesaver you are to me right now!!

Beverly, you make it seem so easy. I would have had to draw it out and then experiment to make HST's correct size.
Thank you from a lot of us.
