We were near a Janome store today so I took my hubby in just to show him the Horizon 7700 that I have been drooling over. His comment after we left the store...it sure is BIG..it's certainly not a toy...lol.
I'm not quite sure what he had pictured when I'd been telling him about it before...lol

Gotta love them, though.

Oh, you could have sooo much fun talking to him about size, heeheheh

patricej 07-27-2010 12:41 AM

now there's a man who "gets it".

sewcrafty 07-27-2010 02:25 AM

Are you ladies saying that size matters?

Rainy Day 07-27-2010 02:29 AM

MMMMaybe, but powerful toys are good!
Let's be careful here - there is a moderator about hehehe

patricej 07-27-2010 03:08 AM

yes ... there is.

she's laughing too hard to judge or fuss. ;-)

heather1949 07-27-2010 03:22 AM

Just when I was getting interested, you all stopped.

Rebecca VLQ 07-27-2010 04:04 AM

Hubby said that when I set up my frame. I'm like, yup! That's why you get the whole garage for your "stuff"

Quilter7x 07-27-2010 04:07 AM

The Horizon is a big machine, but it sure does a lot of stuff. And I really think it's a great price for a machine that does so much.

Maybe your hubby will suggest that you go back to JoAnn's and get it. A gal can hope, right? :D

pstoner 07-27-2010 05:11 AM

as Tim Taylor would say...."more power, huh huh huh"

sueisallaboutquilts 07-27-2010 05:44 AM

Oh no, not another husband thread!! I've been cracking up since yesterday over "Reorganized" Karen's thread.
I have an all male household. I love their naivete about certain things. It's just so sweet. Boys are grown but the innocence of them and my hubby remains about stuff that we talk about on the board.

firecrackerpam 07-27-2010 05:59 AM

My "Boys" Hubby and older teenage and young adult men really seem to appreciate my quilting efforts. My 19 y.o. spent almost an hour looking over a christmas quilt with me once it came back from the longarmers just pointing out all the special touches she "hid" in the quilt. It was pretty fun.

littlehud 07-27-2010 08:33 AM

That is so funny. Gotta love him.

pittsburgpam 07-27-2010 09:22 AM

Maybe he thought of your stuff as TOYS until he saw that machine.

Wonder what he would think of a big ole long arm?

patricej 07-27-2010 11:03 AM

it would scare him halfway to a fainting spell, i'll bet.

Well, I guess, when you put my old machine next to the 7700 mine does look like a toy...lol.

Oh...and he is happy for me to buy a 7700 :) We just can't afford it yet..but I'm saving really hard...lol

My husband took me out to breakfast a couple of weeks ago. Then we went to a sewing machine shop. We came home with a Bernina 630 Embroidery Sewing Machine. He claims it is his, but I can use it with his permission. We'll see how long his interest lasts! :-)

That's terrific!!! My husband SHRUDDERS too!!! Just didn't know what to call it! I think it originates in his wallet....hehehe

PuffinGin 07-27-2010 03:42 PM

I've often told my husband, who does woodworking as a hobby, that sewing is very similar to woodworking. I say go for that Horizon when you can afford it. As my DH always says about tools and other stuff, "Pennies more to go first class."
