Hugs and kisses help please
Done with hugs block finishing at 7.5. Need help with kisses size. How big do I make each square. I can sew, I can cut, I can quilt, just can't do math.

That is where you have the X and O blocks? The subunits are the same size in both blocks, but the O's have two ends with background, while the X is made with 1 background.
So the answer is the same size as you used before. I do like that pattern, it is one I've made more than once :) Edit: Wait -- I took a look at a quilt. Subunits are the same but just turned differently. |
Big oops...name vof pattern is really Arkanasa crossisng OOPPS!!! My x block is made of 4 squares, snowballing 2 opposite corners on eah small block. That' my math confusion. Size to cut smaller squares

This was an informative video:
Iceblossom has the answer for you. https://www.google.com/search?client...xPvP3VMno,st:0 lots of product references, but if you ignore them, her construction and pressing tips were good. I totally cringed because she does not appear to be a wash before cutting person, but - use what one can from the video and ignore the rest. |

To continue my train of thought. If your 4 section block finishes at 7 inches (7.5 unfinished), then each 4 patch block is 3.5 inches finished. Therefore, 3.5/2= 1.75 +.5 (seams) so each block part of this is cut at 2.25 inches. When 4 are sewn together, you should get a 7.5 inch unfinished block.
Please, if anyone sees this differently, please correct my calculations. |
