Hunter's Star from Fat Quarter Shop?

Has anyone used this free technique?

They have a video and a free PDF (Plus you can buy the pattern.)

https://static.fatquartershop.com/me...ockPattern.pdf

Not sure how to attach the YouTube video but if you search Fat Quarter Shop Hunters Star, it comes up.

If anyone has used this technique or another that has worked out well, I'd be interested to hear about it. (I saw the thread about the MSQC one so I'm going to look at that one.)

Someone on QB did a scrappy Hunter’s Star and it was lovely . Maybe she used fat quarters?

I did mine using the Deb Tucker/Studio 180 Rapid Fire tool (it was a queen-size (96 x 96) finish, so I used the large tool). It was only the 6th quilt I'd ever made, and the accuracy of the points got me hooked on Deb's tools.

I also did mine with Deb Tuckers ruler. My sister made one with the Missouri Star technique, which is to use 1/2 square triangles. I liked mine way better. It didn't look any easier to do the the 1/2 square triangle way. The results using the Deb Tucker ruler is easy, it's very accurate and makes a stunning block. Wouldn't recommend any other way. I bought her ruler to make the Storm at Sea quilt. Looking forward to that.

I have Deb Tucker/Studio Rapid Fire tool ruler for the pattern....sadly I've never gotten around to it. Still on my bucket list of to do quilts.

I made my Hunter's Star quilt from instructions on this board from Roolen. She hasn't posted in a long time but does beautiful work. I found the block to be very easy to make using her technique.

Thanks so much (everyone!) It was a gift for my brother. I had a blast picking out the fabrics and texting him sample photos and border layouts so he could pick what he liked. The right tools (either the techniques others have shared or the Tucker templates) do potentially make the block so much easier. I also used EQ to play with some of the border layouts, too, which made it a lot easier to do something "different".

I did mine using pp'ing. Did a king. It was lots of work but worth it for me. Love this pattern!

Ok, here's mine. Gifted it to my DIL.

Mine were 10" squares . The quilt finished at 100" x 100" . Picture doesn't show it all done.

Just looked at the pdf - a lot of waste fabric though so doubt if I'd use it.
Love all your photos.

My first Hunter Star I used Deb Tuckers ruler. The next one I did was paper pieced. If I ever do another one, I will absolutely use Deb Tuckers ruler again. It was so easy and accurate.

I used the fatquartershop free PDF and it went together very well. Gave it away and have no picture. Would make it again.

Thanks, PKGranny!
