Hunters Star question
I want to make one of these quilts. I have been contemplating buying the HS ruler. Then I saw a pattern that made it with just HST'S. I am concerned about all the bias cuts with the ruler. BUT I am also concerned about all the seam allowances that will show thru with the HST. I am wanting to do a 2 color one with WHITE being one of the colors. So, would any of you who have made this quilt either way give me some guidance please ? Thanks in advance!!

I have the Deb Tucker Lemoyne ruler and a couple others. She also makes a Hunter Star one. I really like her processes of using them.

I made a Hunters Star with Deb Tucker's tool. Easy and accurate.

Personally, I stay away from patterns that I have to buy special rulers or special "tools", have you checked out Quilter's Cache, she has a paper pieced Hunter's Star.

I have Deb Tucker's ruler for the hunter star, it works great. Every point is perfect (really!) and it is very easy to use. I love that ruler, wouldn't make a hunter 's star without it. IMHO

My favorite way is using the HS die for my Go. I have used the Deb Tucker ruler and it it's easy and almost fool proof. Why so many are against buying specialty rulers is sad. You will never know how much better a new way can be.

I found the Deb Tucker ruler to be OK but a waste of material.
I have Jan Krentz's book from being at a quilting function with her. I decided to PP it. |
I've made two using Deb Tucker's Hunter Star ruler. I think its great a great method, you end up making them a little smaller and trim them down. It's a lot of work but definitely worth it. I made one to fit my queen bed like a bedspread, it's huge and I love it, it's one of my favorites.

I made my hunter star using my GO. Was a lot faster and the pieces were all the right sizes
