Deb Tucker's original Hunter's Star is not paper pieced. You can get the pattern at your LQS. Look here: http://cart.studio180design.net/Deb_...erns-list.aspx

They really are very easy and they are beautiful. I love that you can make them in 2, 3 or 4 colors.

Jan Krentz did an episode on Simply Quilts that is rotary cut: http://www.hgtv.com/crafting/hunter-...lts/index.html

I found another one that is for a strip pieced 9" block and the pattern gives measurements for different quilt sizes:

I am doing it right now with Deb Tuckers pattern and ruler. It's not difficult at all, and no PP or foundation.

BTW-I'm not doing it in 2,3 or 4 colors...I have about 45 colors. Mostly blue, green, beige batiks. I'll post a picture when I'm done.

that is going to be pretty. I would like to get the ruler but just don't have the money to spend on them right now. maybe next month. have one hunter star almost done. have another one to do next in pinks and greens. the one I am working on now is blues. will have to get the ruler for the one I will make for my son.

this pic took forever to get with the kids playing on the ground.

I did a Hunter's Star a few years ago by Jackie Robinson from Eureka Designs. It turned out beautiful.

Of course there is a pattern. It was popular long before paper piecing and strip piecing was invented. You should also be able to draft it out in the size you need.
