Fabric World Inc in Stone Mountain, GA -------- fabulously fun place with Super prices if you don't mind digging through piles. Cotton piles are name brands and you buy whatever length they happen to be -- no cutting. A quilters dream. Tons of decorator fabrics and trims ---- all sorts of miscellaneous stuff! I live in OH but wish I lived next door to this store.

You can also check the rowbyrowexperience website. There is a travel guide like on quilting hub. If you input your starting and stopping point, it will list every quilt shop along the way that participates in their program. There are others also that don't participate, those you have to merge with quilting hub for a complete list.

How wonderful of you to think of such a fabulous gift! As a Floridian, I think a trip to A and E pharmacy in Pensacola is worth your time. I smile every time I think of my visits there😀👍

What a great way to celebrate, quilt shops and time with you. Enjoy. |
As stated above, Backyard Fabrics and Murray Sewing Center are great local spots here in west KY. I helped another husband with local quilting spots last year. He was from Vienna, Austria and by the time they got here, there was a party of 6 in the group. Must Stitch Emporium in Paducah is another good spot and it is near Kirchoff's Bakery ( great sandwiches and yummy baked goods)

Agree with Toverly about checking out Row by Row Experience. What a great memory of your trip if you pick up patterns/kits from your stops and your lucky wife (she has a wonderful, thoughtful husband) can make quilt to remember it.

If you want to wander a little farther Missouri Star near St Joseph in Hamilton is an interesting place. The whole center of the town is one quilt shop broken up into little shops in the various stores. And, they have a "man cave" for you to enjoy while she shops. Their web site has a video of their history and stores.

As you can see, Paducah, KY is at the top of the list. I have a trip planned to go there next month for the fall quilt show.
That being said, be sure to come back to us here at Quilting Board and let us know how the trip panned out. |
Thanks so much for all the responses! I wish I could "like" all of them! I'm figuring it all out. I may need to fly us to Nashville and rent a car to go to Paducah. |
