i have the mega quilter and am looking for other quilters with this machine. I am wondering if they like the machine or have any problems with it. What kind of thread works best for them. at times i have tension problems and was wondering how to fix. any help is welcome.

I have the MegaQuilter, Next Generation frame by Grace Co., and QBOT. I'm perfectly happy with my setup! Small investment for big results. I have no problem using all cotton thread. Sometimes my rayon/Sulky shreds, so I try to stick with regular thread. Coats & Clark, Star, Essentials by Connecting Threads, all work fine. Make sure to use an Inspira Topstitch needle! Makes all the difference in the world. There is a yahoo group (PfaffHobbyGrandQuilter....) that is very helpful. PM if you have specific questions. Would love to help you!

I have a mega quilter and frame - I never did have trouble with the tension until this last quilt ... I usually use star thread but tried gutterman thread - it would sew sometimes and then other times NOT - I took the machine apart and cleaned it thoroughly - fiddled with the tension and at this point I have not tried it again... that quilt was an albatross quilt.... anyway I have practiced on a piece of other fabric but have not done anymore.... I usually use star because it is the only one without ordering from catalogs I can buy at the store here. So, I hope this helps - watch the way it is threaded also. and check bobbin for any stray threads that may be caught in bobbin... If you still have problems let me know...

I have a MegaQuilter also with the Next Generation frame.I love it. I used to have alot of problems with thread breaking. I use the Esential thread from Connecting Theads, a Inspira top stitch needle & keep the tension between 4 & 5. No problems anymore with breaking thread. Just wished it had a bigger throat space but I love it.

I had one about 3 years ago, I had nothing but problems with it and so took it back and got my money back.
