If you go with a Husqvarna, just make sure you can get servicing for the machine. I spent big bucks on two machines from Husqvarna and am kicking myself as I live in a small town and the service is horrible! I have sent emails and made phone calls to Husqvarna and have received no replys.

I have a 14 year old Pfaff, and I absolutely love it! The built-in walking foot is a must! :)

That's not true. Only the 830 is that much. The 6 and 7 series that does embroidery is much less.

If the dual feed foot is what's pushing you to Pfaff, consider the fact that other machines have now come out with this feature as Pfaff let the patent wear out. So, there are several manufacturers that have IDT like sewing.

The Creative Touch is the Pfaff version of Bernina 830. There are 2 less expensive ones. Just wanted to give fair warning!

The top of the line Bernina in my area is this much also.
The Pfaff I saw the last time I was in an LQS near me was more than $8,000 plus tax.

I still use the Brother that I have over the Pfaff I have because of the ease in using for embroidery. I love my Pfaff for sewing, but I still use my Brother 1500 for a lot of my piecing, because it is such a workhorse... My Pfaff 7570 I keep because it has a ton of different stitches and sometimes I just like to play with them.
We all have different reasons for using the machines that we do, and we are extremely lucky to have the choices we have... I have a friend who only uses Janomes, and I have never sewn on one.

Best advice I can offer is to do your homework. You might want to lurk on some of the Yahoo groups for Pfaff owners. I was looking at the Pfaff Grand Quilter and decided against it mainly due to the number of problems people have with thread breakage and uneven stitching.
Just my opinion.

I have a Viking Lily 555 which I love. I upgraded to a Viking Designer I LE SE and I love, love, love that machine. It does wonderful things.

I have two vikings and love them both a sewing machine and one that both sews and embroiders but I also have a brother quilting machine that I love also. If you find one that talks to you buy that one
