Help! I can't figure out the cutting. It says in my instructions to make the cuts and leave the fabric above the ruler intact to complete the other cuts. So, do I just cut to the top of the ruler, flip (myself) around, make the other cuts and then just scissor/cut the ends of all of them after? I ended up with this big tangle of strips. Would it ruin it if I just cut the whole wedge out going the one way and then did the other side. Hope this is understandable!

That is how I did it. I cut all the strips on one edge of strips and then turned my mat around and cut the rest of them. I stacked the strip sets like it showed in the instructions. Hope this helps.

Oh boy, am I in trouble!! I don't have the ruler and pattern yet and I feel in bad shape. If instructions are not very clear I can mess up in no time. I will probably be on here asking a lot of questions. Everything is so pretty made into a spiral that I hope I can do it. I try to read all the posts about this that come. Please, anyone who has suggestions and tips, post here. Blessings to all. Kathryn

If you have the smallest size rotary cutter, you can easily cut along the top of the ruler with it. If you don't be careful if you use a "regular" size rotary cutter. I wasn't careful enough, and had a nick into one of my next wedges. Had to do some unstitching and replace that piece.

Don't worry, it really isn't hard and lots of us have made them now, so we're here to help!

The pattern itself is pretty cheesy. All black and white small line drawings and the instructions are poorly written. I won't buy a pattern from this designer.

I did it this way also.
