With the pressure of Christmas off, a little new snowfall, I am dying to get at my stash and try some miniatures for, of all places, my bathroom. I have a frame with five spaces perfect for some creation. Any ideas? Thought I might also tackle a keychain. THAT would stop my hubby from using my carkeys :)

Hmm, He has a car. I had a car. (Need a new one.) We asked to borrow each others car. Keys not a problem. Spares kept in a drawer.
Smallest I have done is a doll quilt. |
Do a search on this board for "Rhonda" and you will find keychains and lots of miniature ideas.

How small is small to you?
A rail fence is an easy beginner minature block. Take 2 light and 1 dark (or viceaversa) 3/4 inch strips 21" long and sew them light dark light together with 1/4 seam allowance. Cut the strip into 1 1/4 inch squares--you will get 16 blocks. Sew the blocks 4 x 4 and the resulting square will finish 3 inches. To set on point make corner triangles. You can build how ever big you want from there with added borders. One of the quilts in this posting is made similarly http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-82680-1.htm |
That's a great idea about stopping husbands from using your keys by making a key chain- a pinkish one would do!
